Other than a bunch of travel, there isn’t much to say about Johannesburg. We took off from the Lake Manyara airstrip and headed toward Kilimanjaro. Due to cloud cover, we couldn’t see the mountain when we landed but did get a glimpse of it when we cleared the clouds on our flight back to Nairobi. We landed at the Wilson airstrip in Nairobi and then were driven to the international airport for our flight to Johannesburg. After a three-hour layover, we began our four-hour flight to “Joburg.” We cleared customs right around midnight and walked over to the Intercontinental Hotel which would be our resting place for the night. All in all the day consisted of nearly fifteen hours travel visiting three countries, five airports and riding on three airplanes. Not the most fun day of the trip.
