We both woke up feeling less than fresh. We staggered down to breakfast at 9:00 and then back upstairs for an hour nap before checking out.
We went back into town in order to tour Kilkenny castle. It was very impressive. They have done a wonderful job of restoring the castle to what it looked like 200 years ago.
After the tour it was back to the care for our trip down to Waterford. I talked Steve into going on a tour of the crystal plant. Tee drive was an easy one until we encountered some traffic in Waterford. I thought the tour was great. It is amazing that each piece is blown, cut and engraved by hand. Each master must complete three to five years of training.
We left Waterford for our final destination of the day, Wexford. This also was an easy drive. The B&B is in a nice house in a quite area. Unfortunately, it is at least three miles to town. Our host recommended the Farmer’s Kitchen for dinner. We took his advice and headed down for a nice dinner. Steve had lamb chops and I had sole. Steve has having impure thoughts about our waitress so I had to get him back to the house for a cold shower.
After a short rest at the house we decided to find out what Wexford had to offer for nightlife. The first pub’s patrons to be graced with our presence was The Yacht. It was a crowded, smoky place with nautical décor and a guy playing cover tunes on an acoustic guitar. We saw a couple of interesting things while we were there. The first was a woman with Jersey hair. Not what I expected in Ireland. The second, and more interesting, was the disappearance of the bar staff at last call. There was no warning. They just left.
We wandered around until we found a place that was open late. The music coming from The Centenary Stores tipped us off that it might be such a place. We hung out there for about an hour and a half listening to dance music and being lucky, or unlucky, enough to see the same woman pick her underwear out of her butt twice. Our short drive home was interrupted by an emergency pit stop but we made it back successfully, ending another day.
