After a less than restful night on the floor, Steve and I got up for the continental breakfast that was included with the room. We then headed to Buckingham Palace to watch the changing of the guard. It was quite the production with two guard units, a band and a bagpipe group. It draws a rather big crowd so Steve and I were wedged pretty tightly against the fence. In fact, at one point Steve had a kid practically standing on his head and I had a guy resting his camera on my shoulder.
We then started our trek to the Tower of London. On the way we passed Big Ben, Parliament, and Trafalgar Square. When we met the rest of the group, a small number of us took the tour of the Tower while the others wandered around. The tour was pretty good with the highlight being the Crown Jewels. On the way out I got my picture taken in front of the Tower Bridge.
Back to the Underground we went in order to get to the Hard Rock which is just above Hyde Park. After lunch there and, of course a t-shirt, Steve showed be around the Piccadilly Circus. This is a lot like Time Square with a lot of neon and street performers.**Back near the Tower for dinner at Beefiatine which is like a scaled down version of Medieval Times in Florida. Everyone is dressed to the period an there is singing and performances like juggling. Unfortunately there were no horse jousting and they gave us utensils to eat with. All in all it was a pretty good show, just a little longer than it needed to be.
